Emotion and Human Life: A Perspective of Ethics

Human beings are animals of emotion, which is psychological experience based on instinct and desire and influenced and controlled by reason. Human beings' emotion is a colorful and complex sky with differences in nature, range, depth and intensity. On the view of ethics, human beings' emotion can be examined closely in value on whether it is beneficial to human beings' existence, and from five dimensions of health, abundance, endurance, nobleness, fineness. These five dimensions are also the five criterions of whether it is beneficial to human beings' existence. Among them, health is the bottom line criterion which decided the good or bad nature of emotion. Emotion has overall, profound and direct influence on human life. It can be the source of both the happiness and suffering of people's lives. Emotion needs reasonable guide and control by reason. Only by perfect harmony of reason and emotion aiming to better existence, can human being has a real life and happiness of life.
