Abstract: Luo Cong-yan put forward a theory that benevolence is essence or basis and justice is form or operation, and affirmed a unity of the principle of benevolence and general norms from aspect of the relation of basis and form. On this foundation he inspected thoroughly the relation of morality and laws, and emphasized legislation must be strict and carrying out the laws should be lenient. At the same time, LUO Cong-yan also inquired into a relevance of the necessity of Li and normal behavior of the world, and entrusted the self Li to a character of simplification.

摘要： 罗从彦提出了仁体义用说,以体用关系的层面,肯定了仁道原则与普遍规范之间的统一性。在此基础上,他对道德与法的关系作了深入的考察,强调立法不可不严,行法不可不恕。同时,罗从彦还探讨了理之必然与世之常行的相关性,赋予理本身以“易简”的品格。
