Abstract: Zeng Guofan's family ethic is rich in content. It had fidelity as the basis of a family, thrift as the way of running a family, moral education as the means to build up a family, and good neighborhood as the source of harmony in a family. Zeng Guofan's family ethic is of course traditional by essence, which should be analyzed critically, but it also consists of many reasonable factors that can be made of use of by us.
