Abstract: "necessary harm" is the new ethics principle on the basis of the reflection and excavation on the flaw of non-injury principle theory and the drawing on the ethical thought of Western Ecological Ethics about solving the contradiction and conflict of human and nature. It includes: human have to do harm to nature for the sake of their own interests; human have to make concessions to nature for the integrity and stability of nature. "Necessary harm" principle enriches and improves the system of ecological ethics and moral principles,and provides an effective behavior guidance to the practice of the ecological ethics.
