Abstract: Over the past times a fundamental trend of the development in human-being's reason is:The ethical rationality has got more and more attention and veneration with the social development. However, it does not mean that ethical rationality could extend unlimitedly, on the contrary, the tension of ethical rationality is limited. This not only is reflected in the instrumental rationality's constraint to it, but also is reflected in the inherent logical construction of the practice of the social development. To Study and discuss the tension of ethical rationality and its limit, not only can help to correct the implemental rationality's stubbornness to make up the shortcoming of the simple economic growth doctrine, but also can help to guard against the value reason especially.
