Abstract: In the period around 1911 Revolution, the Revolutionists, who had the same political stand, diverged on the subject about how to treat the traditional Chinese morality. Generally, there were two typical opinions, i.e. some revolutionaries basically approved the traditional morality, but the others held a contrary view. These two opinions have their respective merit and defect, because each of them grasped one essential factor of the traditional morality that in fact is a plural complex, and revealed one aspect of the relations between the complex and the modern society. The reflection on this ethical difference in the Revolutionists can help us to better understand the value and fate of the traditional morality.
Key words: period around 1911 Revolution, Revolutionists, traditional morality, plural complex
