Abstract: The article holds that the word “nature” contains at least two kinds of meanings: phenomena of physical world as a whole and physical power causing these or things' essential qualities. Historically human beings show their awe and admire to “nature” by styles of fetishistic、rational and moral. And the moral style discards and transcends the former styles.

摘要： “自然”一词至少指称着两个层面的意义,即由万事万物的本真存在组成的“自然界”和万事万物背后蕴含的本性、规律或万物“所以自己而然”之理。人类对于“自然”的敬畏呈现出迷信的、理性的和德性的三种形态。德性式的“敬畏”是对人与自然之关系的重新审视及对前两种“敬畏”形式的扬弃和超越,对于构建环境伦理与和谐社会具有重要的实践意义。
