Abstract: What effect can technological progress have on morality? The Setback Standpoint goes that it will surely bring the setback of morality, while the Progress Standpoint goes that it will help the development of morality. Having looked into the two standpoints, we found that their conception of 'setback' and 'progress' are not in the same sense. If moral progress means the improvement of human heart and virtues, while moral setback refers to the deterioration of human heart and virtues, then technology can neither push forward the development morality nor set back the development of morality.

摘要： 科技进步会对道德产生什么影响?“促退论”认为必然导致道德退步,“促进论”则认为会推动道德进步。可经考察发现,这两种观点所说的“道德进步”与“道德退步”,并不是在同一层意义上的所指。如果道德进步是指人心改善,德性提升,而道德退步是指人心堕落,德性败坏,那么,科技对道德就既无促进作用,也无促退作用,只呈中性意义。
